Music Education Hubs Gala Day Monday 1st July
This day includes a showcase concert in Sage One and free performances on the concourse celebrating the outstanding youth music which takes place across the North East and will demonstrate the breadth and diversity of music from each part of the region.
The Gala Day is presented by the six North East Music Education Hubs: Durham and Darlington, Gateshead and South Tyneside, North Tyneside, Music Partnership North (Newcastle and Northumberland) Sunderland and Tees Valley. These hubs work in close partnership and are delighted to be able to come together for this rare opportunity to share the stage and perform at Sage Gateshead.
Performances will include Music Partnership North Newcastle whole class ensembles from Newburn Manor, St Albans, Farne Primary, Excelsior, St Michaels. North Tyneside Senior Youth Ensemble, Gateshead Cardinal Hume Orchestra, Durham wider opportunities ensembles from Coxhoe Primary School, Sunderland The Orchestra Project and Tees Valley Youth Collective.

Music Partnership North is one of 122 music hubs across England set up to support and enhance music education for children and young people in their area in line with the aims of The Importance of Music: A National Plan for Music Education (NPME).
Music Partnership North Newcastle provides instrumental teaching and music support activities in Newcastle schools. Our expert teachers, musicians and performers work in every phase of education from early years to sixth form.
Through our work with numerous partners, local organisations and educational establishments, we use music to support and develop individuals to help them reach their full potential through various musical pathways.
We work jointly with Music Partnership North Northumberland and Sage Gateshead to provide a quality range of musical activities and tuition to inspire children and young people from all backgrounds and circumstances.
